In this video, I show 9 easy flip flaps you can add to your junk journals.
This is a simple way to build interaction and layering into your pages without overcomplicating the process. I walk through how I create the flip flaps and how they come together as part of a finished piece.
I’m also working with elements from my Egyptian Blue Lotus collection, so you’ll get a look at how those papers and designs come through in a real project.
You can use this approach with any paper collection you already have. It works well for adding movement, structure, and extra space within your journal pages.

HOnestly.. I knew nothing about Egypt when I started. THis month of creating.. I fell inlove, when I entered this time frame and location. This is one of the things i love most about junk journaling, it can feel like time travel. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do… dont worry.. music to accompany the eclectic journey will follow shortly. The color pallete is teal, magenta, violet, antique gold , sepia and parchment.

These tabs add structure, layering, and style to your journal without being permanent. I’ll show you how to create each version step by step, using materials you already have on hand, and how to adjust the width so they fit any journal size.

Whether you prefer a clean studio look or a layered vintage style, these removable file-edge tabs are easy to make, endlessly reusable, and a beautiful way to organize your pages.
